This performance upgrade solidifies the GR Yaris’ dominance in its class, offering an authentic race car experience on the road. Strengthening the car’s lightweight body by around 13% through increased spot welds and 24% more structural adhesive improves yaw response, steering feedback, and grip feel, enhancing an already taut and rewarding chassis.

Car ownership is a financial challenge for many Americans today

The purpose-designed platform combines the Yaris’ GA-B structure in the front section with a new rear end from Toyota’s larger GA-C platform. Overall, the GR Yaris stands out as an impressive vehicle, appealing to car enthusiasts globally with its combination of power, performance, and advanced features. Its global debut at the Tokyo Auto Salon adds an extra layer of allure, and anticipation is high to witness this exceptional vehicle on roads soon.
